The VPS system was really great, considering that it lacks GPS, the Tello could keeps its position very accurately, almost like a professional-grade DJI drone that had GPS. WiFi is used to control it through my smartphone and for live video feed of the front camera.
AIO DRONE STATION DIY 720P
Its front main camera is a 5MP 720p video capable, with electronic image stabilisation for a smooth video. It features an intel processor with Visual Positioning System (VPS), which utilises the bottom camera as an optical flow sensor aided with infrared height sensors. It was a significant upgrade over the Eachine E010 in terms of its features and smart technology built in. I flew with the Ryze Tello for quite some time. If I have the time, I will write a post on the details of it. In fact, after building the 3″ FPV quad, I converted the E010 to a FPV ‘tiny whoop’ adding an eachine TX05 AIO FPV camera. To this day, it is still performing perfectly as if it was new. I kept crashing alot, nevertheless, its durable frame never broke and even with crashes from the height of the house’s roof, it still held up. It was very simple and easy to fly around the house.

The eachine e010 was considered to be a toy drone.

Just before the start of the year, I forayed into the FPV world and built my first 3″ drone (aka quad). Just over a year and a half after I got the Ryze Tello, I saw videos on FPV drones and its capabilities that wowed me. I liked it a lot, but it has its limitations. It had multiple features and smart technology that it was like a professional-grade toy drone. The Ryze Tello was a different level of toy drones. It was definitely fun to fly around in the house, but that was how I learnt the different mechanics and the maneuverability of drones/quadcopters. Just a few weeks before that I had also bought an Eachine e010 toy drone at the Singapore Maker Faire 2018. Flying drones was not a new thing for me, after all, I got into the drone hobby seriously about 2 years ago when I was gifted with a DJI Ryze Tello.
